The look of love? Jennifer gazes into Gerard's eyes

Walking arm in arm, she places an arm tenderly on his tummy and looks up to capture his expression. This could be any loving couple.

Except this is Hollywood’s most famous singleton, Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler, her co-star in a new movie.

And the cameras have stopped rolling.

The pair’s behaviour while filming The Bounty has already prompted rumours they are dating and they were doing little to hide their feelings for one another yesterday.

Aniston, 40, and Butler, 39, who play an estranged couple in the romantic comedy, were pictured deep in conversation, totally oblivious to onlookers.

The Myth of The Chemical Cure

Pills Taking a pill to treat depression is widely believed to work by reversing a chemical imbalance.

But in this week’s Scrubbing Up health column, Dr Joanna Moncrieff, of the department of mental health sciences at University College London, says they actually put people into "drug-induced states".

If you’ve seen a doctor about emotional problems some time over the past 20 years, you may have been told that you had a chemical imbalance, and that you needed tablets to correct it.

It’s not just doctors that think this way, either.

Magazines, newspapers, patients’ organisations and internet sites have all publicised the idea that conditions like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder can be treated by drugs that help to rectify an underlying brain problem.

Grapefruit The humble grapefruit could prove to be a mighty – if bitter tasting – weapon in the fight against diabetes, scientists say.

A study found naringenin, a flavonoid found in citrus fruit, makes the liver burn fat instead of storing it after a meal.

Researchers believe the chemical would also help obesity sufferers and even fight diabetes, because it also helped balance insulin and glucose levels.

Don’t Cut Up Your Carrots!

Carrots Cooking carrots whole before chopping them up boosts their anti-cancer properties by 25 per cent, researchers say.

Leaving the vegetable intact prevents valuable nutrients from being easily washed away into the water, claim scientists.

As an added bonus, boiling unchopped carrots also makes them taste better, they said.

They can then be chopped up once cooked without loss of nutrients.

Carrots have long been prized for their health benefits, especially their vitamin and fibre content. They contain huge amounts of carotenoids which are converted into vitamin A in the body.

They are also an excellent source of the anti-cancer compound falcarinol.

No Rush To Lose Extra Baby Pounds

BV Trying to copy celebrities who are back in skinny jeans weeks after giving birth is unrealistic and dangerous, new mothers are being warned.

It can take women six months or even a year, not weeks, to shed the weight they put on in pregnancy, say experts.

Crash diets and intensive exercise programmes are not only likely to fail but can harm mother and baby.

The advice comes from Germany’s Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care.

According to the Institute, women are under too much pressure to lose weight quickly after giving birth, when many need some of that extra weight to provide nourishment for the baby.
