Can You Influence A Baby’s Sex?

Smoking Women And Female Sex Hormones

smokingwomen.jpgA successful attempt to quit smoking may depend on where women are in their monthly cycle, say scientists.

Those trying before ovulation were more likely to reach for a cigarette again than those trying at other times, US scientists claimed.

Writing in the journal Addiction, the researchers said differing levels of female sex hormones were to blame.

mcdonalds.jpgRestaurant giant McDonald’s is providing its UK workers with new designer uniforms, in a “mark of respect” for its staff.

The new outfits, designed by Bruce Oldfield, include a polo shirt and baseball cap, both in black and mocha.

McDonald’s said its staff did a “challenging job” serving two million people daily. The new outfits would help them “feel good” in their role.

Bruce Oldfield’s clients include Jemima Khan and Catherine Zeta Jones.

Great British Breakfast? Not Eat!

Just 50g of processed meat daily increases the chances of getting bowel cancer by around 20%.

The charity World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) said more needed to be done to get across the message that people who eat processed meat regularly are putting their health at risk.
