They say curiosity killed the cat – but one Texan moggy’s exploration of its new home helped uncover a huge stash of child porn.

The cat was snooping around its new flat in Austin, Texas, when it came across a gap in the wall.

The woman who owns the feline remarked on it to a friend, who put his hand into the gap and found a number of DVDs apparently hidden by the apartment’s previous owner.

A horror film which has left audiences in the US feeling sick is due to open in the UK tomorrow.

Cloverfield features strobe lighting effects, shaky footage and flashing lights which cause sickness, nausea and dizziness in viewers.

The thriller is told from the point of view of five young New Yorkers using their handheld camera.

Mothers who fear their babies suffer from food allergies are largely wrong, research has found.

More than 800 babies were monitored for three years, and more than a third of their parents, mainly mothers, said their child had a food intolerance.

But just 27 were allergic to any food at the age of three, and fewer than 60 had a food allergy at any stage.
