The cat was snooping around its new flat in Austin, Texas, when it came across a gap in the wall.

The woman who owns the feline remarked on it to a friend, who put his hand into the gap and found a number of DVDs apparently hidden by the apartment’s previous owner.

The Horror Film That Causes Nausea In Viewers

Baby And Allergy

baby2.jpgMothers who fear their babies suffer from food allergies are largely wrong, research has found.

More than 800 babies were monitored for three years, and more than a third of their parents, mainly mothers, said their child had a food intolerance.

But just 27 were allergic to any food at the age of three, and fewer than 60 had a food allergy at any stage.

Man Was Attacked By The Crocodile

crocodiles2.jpgA man has been accidentally shot by a rescuer who was trying to free him from the jaws of a crocodile in northern Australia.

The victim, in his late 20s, was attacked by the reptile near a popular tourist spot on the Mary River south-east of Darwin.

He was flown to hospital by helicopter for emergency surgery for bite and bullet wounds.

At least 100,000 deaths from ovarian cancer have been prevented worldwide by the contraceptive pill over 50 years, research has concluded.

The Oxford University team said the pill’s rising popularity meant 30,000 new cases will soon be avoided each year, the Lancet reported.

The findings were based on analysis of 45 previous studies.

Scientists say the spectacular giant palm introduces an entirely new family of species, making it one of the botanical wonders of the world.

The palm had remained hidden for centuries until it was found in an 800ft-square area of swampland on the island off the southeastern coast of Africa, only accessible by air.

Coffee Raises Miscarriage Risk

cofee3.jpgPregnant women should consider avoiding caffeine say researchers who found even moderate consumption in early pregnancy raises the risk of miscarriage.

Currently, the Food Standards Agency sets an upper limit during pregnancy of 300mg – or four cups of coffee a day.

But a US study in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology found 200mg of caffeine a day doubled the risk compared to women who abstained.
